It has been a sad year for the Frazetta family. My prayers are with them.

70's Flashback

I have recently been hired to do some illustrations related to properties from the 70's. The first being Planet of the Apes (okay technically the first movie was 1968). Blam! Ventures is launching a series novels set in the 1970's PotA universe.

New Art Forum

Hey Everyone,
Sorry I have been lagging on the posts of late, I have been very busy with work. I just wanted to take a moment to invite everyone to join a new art forum a friend of mine started up,
The Illustration Board
Right now it is mostly just a bunch of my friends and students, but I would love to have the opportunity to get to know those of you I do not already, and to get back in touch with those of you I have not spoken to in awhile. So come on over and say hi, and post em if you've got em.

One more thing we will be starting a competition on March 1st, all are welcome to participate.

End of an Era - Fred Fixler Dies

I never had the honor of meeting Fred Fixler, but I count myself among the hundreds if not thousands of artists who would not be living my dream of being a professional artist if not for his legacy. Perhaps one of the least know, and most influential artist's of his generation. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

Inspiration: Basil Gogos

Legendary Famous Monsters of Filmland artist, and former Frank Reilly student, Basil Gogos recently did a painting of Benicio Del Toro for the new Wolfman movie. I am a huge fan of his work and I couldn't be more excited about this. Click on the image to see the full illustration as well as read an interview with the man himself.

Life Drawings and Demos (Jan 2010)
