Top 7 Horror Films: #2

#2 The Thing
I am telling you, I don't think another director has ever strung together a series of movies like John Carpenter did in the 70's and 80's.

Great one - I adore this film.

Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci… color me yellow. Carpenters best films are his giallo inspirations, Halloween, Cigarette Burns, and his scripted Eyes of Laura Mars.

I learned along time ago it is never a good idea to argue with Argento and Fulci fans, but I still give the win to Carpenter for versatility. If you want to throw a giallo director at me try Bava, he's the man. From 1963-72 he made 17 fims, they are all good and they range from horror, to comedy, to sci-fi, and even a western.

One of life's most important lessons.

No doubt about the greatness of Bava. The Euro edit of Black Sabbath compared to the U.S. release is one of the most incredible "re-writes" ever.

I hope you're including Big Trouble in Little China in his list of greatest films.
