Sir Kobe

Here is a different kind of piece for me. It was part of a project that ended up falling through, but it was fun to work on. I modified it a bit to be a standalone piece, and it will be available at IlluXCon. 20" x 30" oil on canvas panel.

Paintings For Sale!

I recently had an emergency room visit (don't worry it turned out to be mostly nothing) that has turned out to be quite expensive, and as a result I am putting a bunch of paintings up for sale at a reduced (in some cases significantly) price.  All paintings are listed at what I would like to get, but I will entertain lower offers.  Some are older pieces, but others are being offered for sale for the first time.

I created a special blog for these listings http://emgistemergency.blogspot.com/ I will be adding more paintings over the next few days.

Monster Portraits part 2

I mentioned awhile back that something I started doing in my spare time are classic monster portraits.  I plan on doing some more complicated narrative scenes in this vein, but in the mean time I have been taking on some private commissions.  Here is the most recent.

P.A.C.T. Indiegogo

Hey all,  I am sure most of you already know about the Indiegogo campaign going on right now to raise funds for the Profession Artist-Client Toolkit.  Over the last twenty year professional illustrators have been asked to do more, faster, with no increase (or in some cases a decrease) in pay every year.  P.A.C.T is an attempt to aid and educate today's illustrator to protect themselves.  We have certain rights, or rather should have certain rights that have slowly been eliminated from even the lowest paying jobs.  So rather than just complain about it, a group of brave souls decided to do something about it.  I know it seems like a bunch of nerds and fan boys are complaining about how much they get paid to draw dragons, but this is our livelihood, how we support our families.  So go to the site, and if the urge strikes you, give what you can.  If you give enough there are many GREAT perks, from stickers to original art.

Figures and Drapery

Again these are mostly 20-25 minute demos.  I am pretty sure the only exception is the first one, I am not sure how long I spent on it, probably an hour.

Quick Sketch and Anatomy

Over the next week I will be posting a selection of my life drawings and demos from the last year or so.  I am starting off with some quick sketches (mostly 3 and 5 minutes) and anatomy drawings (mostly demonstrations from my classes).
